AND so we learn it was former US deputy secretary of state Richard Armitage - Australia's best friend in the US - not the Bush White House who was the first to out Valerie Plame as a CIA employee.

With this knowledge is demolished yet another left-liberal fantasy about George W. Bush.

Another real shame is the part.
It has taken a bitter and terrible toll on Mr Libby's life, while Mr Wilson and Ms Plame have revelled in magazine fashion shoots, Left-liberal hero status and the rest.

That's the strategy these days:

- whether it's true or not, the press blames everything on evil republicans
- leftist followers of all kinds hear the rallying cry, and carry it
- say something often enough and it gains credibility
- the evil republicans are destroyed

It's a mob mentality. This is how George Bush and Dick Cheney were destroyed. It's how the war in Iraq was destroyed, and how Hurricane Katrina became such a failure. It destroyed Sarah Palin. It's largely responsible for Obama's victory. So many people and issues have been impacted by the lynch mob tactics, it has changed everything in politics.

Another real shame is the part.

The REAL shame is the 4000 Americans who've died in Iraq thanks, in part, to the lies and distortions the Bush White House used to justify the war. I've no tears to shed for anyone who became, even as a "fall guy", part of the conspiracy to punish Plame and Wilson.

I hate to break it to you folks, but this story has been out for quite a while now. Armitage revealed himself, during a CNN interview (http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/11/12/cia.armitage/index.html) in November of 2007. And those ignorant commie-libs at National Public Radio (http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5732395) reported on the story a year before that.

Blaming "the press" for Hurricane Katrina, the disastrous war in Iraq, and Sarah Palin's gob-smacking stupidity is wearing a little thin.

Here are some better questions for your G: Why in the heck didn't they evacuate when they were asked to do so? If they insisted on staying why didn't they prepare with their own water supplies? Why did so many of the police force dessert? Why did people think they could loot and shoot at the responders? Why are they rebuilding in the same flood plain and just waiting for the next CAT 4-5 hurricane? Common sense, people.

Not to rehash this situation too much but whether one lives in Palm Beach or inner city NO, people need to be responsible for their own actions. Making the decision to place themselves (and ultimately their rescuers) in danger, then complaining about not being rescued quickly enough is ridiculous. Their sorry excuse for a Mayor did not help much with the evacuation or communication with Washington, either.

I don't care how much work is done on the dikes, a direct hit from a Cat 5 hurricane will obliterate NO. There is only so much we can do against the forces of nature. If it were my decision, I would prohibit rebuilding in the flood plain; it is a futile and expensive no-winner.

You know we will pay again, and again, and again. That is just the way our government works, even with a Republican president. It won't change with BO.

What I can't understand is that when I lived in Johnstown, PA during the 1977 flood (30+ people killed) reconstruction in the flood plain required the house/business to be raised on its foundation. And this was despite the fact that the Corp of Engineers was supposedly able to make a permanent fix of the runoff problems and failed dams, thereby stopping any future floods. New Orleans does not seem to be held to that standard from what I've read and it is a matter of time before it gets squashed by another big hurricane. And BTW, G, the Corp claimed they did not have adequate resources to avoid the broken dams. Jimmie Carter was president.

Another thing people fail to remember is the lame-brained govenor at the time would not issue the order to allow FEMA to get started. Red Tape triumphed once again.

I lived in NO for 5 years and was told to evacuate 3 times. Guess what I did? I got the heck out of Dodge. The people that stayed behind were stupid. The fact that the mayor allowed those school buses to go unused was criminal. He should have been prosecuted.. instead he got reelected.
