I'm still getting periodic emails from the White House and they are laughable. The latest is from BO urging Americans to help others. Maybe they need to encourage that in D.C. or Chicago or other Blue areas but out here in the Heartland we do this as part of daily living. We do it via our churches (which used to provide all assistance before Government inserted itself), we do it through our civic groups and we do it by helping our neighbors. Now this guy is telling us to help, while enlarging government even more and inserting it into our personal lives. He also will ultimately stealing money from us via taxes, which limits the resources we have to help the needy. This guy is totally out of touch.

Here's his dribble for your reading enjoyment:

Dear Friend,

Last week, I announced United We Serve – a nationwide call to service challenging you and all Americans to volunteer this summer and be part of building a new foundation for America.

And when I say “all,” I mean everyone – young and old, from every background, all across the country. We need individuals, community organizations, corporations, foundations, and our government to be part of this effort.

Today, for the official kick off of United We Serve, members of my administration have fanned out across America to participate in service events and encourage all Americans to join them.

The First Lady is rolling up her sleeves and getting to work too. But before she headed out today, she asked me to share this message with you.

Our nation faces some of the greatest challenges it has in generations and we know it’s going to take a lot of hard work to get us back on track.

While Michelle and I are calling on every American to participate in United We Serve, the call to service doesn’t end this fall. We need to stay involved in our towns and communities for a long time to come. After all, America’s new foundation will be built one neighborhood at a time – and that starts with you.

Thank you,
President Barack Obama

Evidently no one told him that America doesn't need a new foundation, despite what his America hating background tells him. He is right on about America facing one of its' greatest challenges though: BO.

I got that email last night and announced to my family that as soon as I see him and all of congress give up their salary and perks and hit the streets to "help", I'll be there.

Well, it's an attempt at an encouraging message.

But I totally agree the last thing America needs is a new foundation. We already have an incredible foundation - one which we should be returning to.

And I don't really expect the First Lady to roll up her sleeves to help a country she never felt pride for until her husband became President.

Exactly. This is pure window dressing/photo op. I wonder how many Kiwanis pancake breakfasts these people worked at or how many hospital fund raisers or meals they brought to neighbors who were sick? What did they ever do when the cameras were not around? We can tell by their previous charitable giving (or lack of) that they did not financially provide charitable support. And the Libs try to call conservatives hypocrites....

i wonder when the last time they gave something to a stranger asking for food, just because they felt they should? have they ever felt that tug to do something that is so far out of their personality's that they fight the urge to ignore it, but end up losing and helping someone and recieving nothing in return?

im willing to bet they are the type to roll up their window's and lock the door's around people asking for food, i alway's felt it to a brave man to stand up and say he needed help so i look the square in the eye's and either help or tell them i can't im sorry.

and just to throw this out there there is a difference between asking for food and money, if your hungry you will take what i bring you. not turn it away, i had this couple walk up to me a year or to ago and ask for money to get their kids some food, i said i don't have money but if you will bring them into the store with me ill get them what ever they want..... he told me no he wanted the money so they could go to mcdonald's.... i said see ya later.
