Hey all,

Since I'm finally starting to post I thought it good to tell you all little about myself. After lurking here a bit I think I fit in here.

I’m in my 50’s, feel like 25, act 12 ½
Pretty much my entire life revolves around bikes and I currently have 6 from a 1954 to a 2008.
I’m a work-a-holic but do nothing important. I work hard, ride hard, drink hard (JD straight up please, no ice), smoke and I’m definitively politically INCORRECT.
I have lived most of my life here in New York City and despite the political atmosphere here I just love my City.
My business is very involved in the political process (I’ll explain how some other time) and I have a unique perspective on the state of politics and it makes me sick.

I describe myself as a Constitutional Conservative, which to me means strict adherence to the US Constitution, not someone’s “interpretation of what they THINK it means. It also means individual rights come first, States rights come second and the Federal government should small and only concern themselves with what happens between the States and between the US and Foreign governments.

I cannot understand the liberal/left/whatever you wanna call them, sheep, nor the media that sheppard’s them, but in the best American tradition, will defend their right to shout their idiocy from the roof tops.

I can discuss politics 24/7 unless it’s a nice day, then I’ll be out riding…

So is this a place for me?

You'll fit right in. Can't wait to hear some of your unique perspective on politics. Now we just need to rustle up a few liberals to debate with. They don't last here very long as they just don't seem to be able to defend the indefensible (or as you so aptly stated it "their idiocy from the roof tops".

Al, great post. I hope you are making some littler Als! Because we need all the help we can get. Feel free to blast anyone here! :)) I love talking politics too, and I find that many other conservatives do. Seems much more difficult to get a liberal to defend their positions - often they only discuss politics in groups, apparently believing no principles are necessary so long as they have backup! :)

thanks for the welcome!

I believe, based on political fights, oops, I mean lively discussions, at my parents house on Sunday's, my two boys (30 & 32) are more conservative then I am. seems somehow, the ex and i actually did a good job raising them, lol

funny thing, I grew up in a decidedly liberal home. even now both my parents (87 and still ticking) are typical NYC lefties. I think all the liberal leanings went to my older sister, she's the pinnacle of elitist, rich liberal thinking.

oh well, we all have our family skeletons, lol
