From the "not so good" news file: According to Congress' Joint Economic Committee, the war in Iraq will cost at least $2 trillion. Thats two million, million dollars. At least $2 trillion - many economists estimate that the cost will end up being far higher, when you factor in things like the increased price of oil, and the lost productivity of the thousands of troops killed and wounded.
The fact that this was has had such a terrible cost, not only in terms of US troops killed and wounded; in irreperable harm to US prestige, and in financial terms - is no surprise. What is a surprise?
That so many people seem to be utterly delusional about the whole situation. They wrap themselves in false patriotism, filling the Internet with bullshit "thank you" notes to "the troops" - and at the same time bitch and moan about paying taxes. Hey, Cletus, where do you think they get the money to pay for the medical care thats going to look after those troops when they get home?
