Wow! Yet again I am somehow shocked that I haven't heard about this sooner...even though a bigger shock would be getting information first from the television or a newspaper rather than this site.

I knew nothing of this my self, until one of my co-workers (Johnny) came into the Prov. office from Boston, His family is big time military, Marine, AF & Navy, he knows & agrees with my hot button issues and told me about the breaking news he heard through the family grape-vine.
The public side of our net went into firewall lock down for several hours, one of our old timer mail clerk who is a retired National Guardsman came over to ask if I knew why the FW was down? I could go anywhere on the intranet, but could not step outside to the public.
First I'm thinking it's related to ipv6 conversions occurring nationwide on our WAN's in a piece meal fashion, sometimes these activities cause temporary brown outs, but allegedly this project is nearly complete so the only thing I'm thinking is that the FR gates were closed until it can be confirmed that there are no threats......or it might be a DNS inbound attack on our proxies......any how..my paranoid mind gets rolling.
Hence the reason for all my convergence research this evening & posting dormant threads on a variety of issue that have common theme, We're Fk'd
I'm just surprised Obama hasn't apologized to them yet.

A number of diary readers have submitted that the popular micro blogging site, Twitter.com has been defaced this morning.
The twitter.com status page has the following report:
Update (11:28p): Twitter’s DNS records were temporarily compromised but have now been fixed. We are looking into the underlying cause and will update with more information soon.
If we receive any more information concerning the outage, or how the hijacking occured, we shall update the diary during the day. If you have any additional information, please let us know via the contact form.
Update: The following screen grab shows the DNS hijacking as recorded via the PassiveDNS systems. The host www . mowjcamp . org is currently hosting the defacement.
Iran taking oil fields in Iraq to me shows Iran sending a crystal clear message to the world that they see Obama as a push over. That's the exact same way they saw slick.

I've read a few articles on this. It appears that this is in disputed territory on the border and has been going back and forth for quite some time.

Hey good to see you post. Now feel free to jump in with both feet here. We need some new blood, were all tired of arguing with each other and me the village idiot ran off all the libs I guess.

It May Be Disputed Territory, But It Is Ours Now And We Shouldn't Stand For This

Fought and paid for with American blood. If we had a real president it wouldn't be a question of what we do.

I think this may be a case of value though. . I'm sure there are scores, if not hundreds of grey areas along the borders in the middle east, and not enough troops on the ground to deal with them all. This one smells like it's more along the lines of a couple of neighbors arguing about where one's dog craps than an invasion.
Check out this quote, from here: http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20091218/wl_afp/iraqiranoilborder_20091218153543
The field is about 500 metres (yards) from an Iranian border fort and about 1 kilometre from an Iraqi border fort, US Colonel Peter Newell said, adding that it falls on the Iraqi side of a border agreed between the two countries.
There are five other similar fields that also fall into disputed territory, he said.
"What happens is, periodically, about every three or four months, the oil ministry guys from Iraq will go ... to fix something or do some maintenance. They'll paint it in Iraqi colours and throw an Iraqi flag up.
"They'll hang out there for a while, until they get tired, and as soon as they go away, the Iranians come down the hill and paint it Iranian colours and raise an Iranian flag. It happened about three months ago and it will probably happen again."

Further down in the article there are claims that the Iranians fired on the Iraquis at some point, but there's no official confirmation of that.
Well if they are like a couple of school girls fighting over it and no clear title is owned then how about the US seize it, take the profits and give it to a fund to help the orphans of the US troops who have died for it?

When Obama supported the Iranian Government over the Iranian protesters, that was yet "another" wake up alarm and red flag for Americans to observe as to O's Policies and favoritisms. Obama stands with oppressors. The governments of China, Russia, Cuba, Venezuela, Bolivia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordon, to name a few. On the other hand, Obama has worked to undermine democracies, namely his own United States of America, Israel, Poland, Georgia, Czechoslovakia, Germany, France, Canada, and that list is growing.
If you believe Obama is simply going to put in his 4 years and then simply be voted out and leave, you're living in a dream world. A Major world event may play a part in his suspension of the constitution power grab, but with this guy, I doubt a big world event will even be necessary for them to attempt to checkmate the American people. If you simply open your eyes, it is crystal clear to see it's coming.
We are seeing a far left media cut BHO out of any negative news! If you recall when Rep wanted to slow the rate of growth on Medicare to 3% the media said they were draconian cuts that would kill old people, however, they openly declare $500,000,000 in cuts in the new heathcare bill...not a word! Where are all the stories about having to eat dog food and why no geezer interviews with tears and harsh testimonies about how the Dems want to throw old people out in the cold?
