I will say that I am happy to see the commentary.
I check in frequently and with so much cannon fodder out there I was surprised to see so little comment.

Its Like Pulling Teeth Trying To Get All The Political People Over Here

I tried this forum about a year ago and it was like talking to a wall. The slight interest died quickly. It's much easier to post a political thread at 1130cc, get it removed and the cry "censureship" rather than come over here.

Well I'm glad to be here. It was getting upsetting seeing all the closed posts on our "home" site. Too touchy if you ask me and I don't like being shut up :).

I had wondered why we couldn't have a political section under 1130 (like off-topic etc.) but I guess this is next best thing.

i tryed to make an arguement elsewhere about it but they had none of it they said it would spill over i guess having the same name in both places doesnt help the spill over though but does allow some to hide there identidy

Too many hold grudges, not necessarily on purpose that's just our mental make up. It's difficult to be friendly with people if you know in the back of your mind that they have views that just really piss you off, thats the reason for the name thing.

I kept the same name. I have a saying. I'd rather be hated for being who I am than liked for being someone I'm not.

While we probably won't agree on every issue, I admire and respect you for taking the time to write your own opinions.

IMHO too many "political" discussions rely on people simply cutting and pasting articles they find elsewhere on the web. It is difficult to have a discussion with that sort of material.

I hope that this forum can help people learn more about other people's positions, and, from time to time, to find common ground.

As an example, and please forgive me if I am making an incorrect assumption, I think you may have learned that not all "progressive" or "liberal" voters are opposed to gun ownership. Likewise I was pleased to see that you agree with the position that some types of weapons should not be owned by private citizens (the 20mm cannons, etc.) I honestly do not believe that either of us would have learned that by simply trading "cut and paste" articles that we found elsewhere.

OH DEFFINATLY IVE ENJOYED THIS PLACE MORE THAN ANYWHERE ELSE LATELY. AND YES WE DO AGREE THAT A 20MM CANNON SHOULDNT BE ABLE TO BE OWNED BY CITIZEN EVEN THOUGHT IT WOULD BE PRETTY KOOL TO SHOOT. AND ON CUT AND PASTE, NOT MY STYLE I LIKE TO DISCUSS WHAT IVE HEARD AND THEN IF I HAVE TO TRY AND PROVE SOMETHING I WILL

Buddy, someone has to be the post leader and I never really had those aspirations. Just fell into it temporarily after some of the early posters have dropped by the wayside.
It's too large a burden for my shoulders and happily rid of it.
