I think the press he got from the ACORN videos may have gone to this guys head. Whoever thought this was a good idea is an idiot.

Wow. They must have thought there was some really juicy information to obtain from Landrieu to make it worth such a stunt. But I'm with you, Dan, if the HP report is correct (and that is always a big "if") it was stupid.

I agree. I can't say I'm that surprised though given the amount of hype the incidents provoked and the very young age of O'Keefe.

I really don't see the big deal...I mean the Senator took a bribe from the President of the USA in exchange for her vote! Look at the statute for a federal bribe vs tampering with a telephone!:rofl

Well we don't know exactly what they were attempting to capture, but I sure wish I knew more about how these back door sell-out deals work.

none are law enforcement, but lets support what looks to be an illegal tap on a US Senators phone. I guess then anyone can do it then, why do we need law enforcement.

im not sure why we need law enforcement when all they do is protect the government, really shouldn't what they do, as our employee's, be our business?

There have been no charges and it really hasn't been said they were even trying to tap a phone. I would wait until the whole story comes out. I do agree the hype and media attention they got from Acorn probably motivated what ever this is but I wouldn't bet they were trying to tap phones. After all no mention was ever made of any type phone tap devices being confiscated.

The current spin is that they were just trying to disrupt phone service to see if anyone in the office noticed.

If you believe that one, I got a bridge to sell you....

Bill I just caught a news report that said they were simply video taping office workers ignoring the phone calls and that was all it had to do with phones. They said there was never any kind of wire tap attempt ever made. May explain why no charges have still been made.

That makes some sense. If they were going to tap the phones they would have hired some Cubans and gone in at night. :D

Actually, It is obvious that not much happened that was illegal or they would be ringing the bell of justice loudly! I really don't think Mary wants anything done about it! I wonder why or what they may have recorded that would be admissable during discovery?

How David Shuster Lied to Get Me to Appear on MSNBC
by Andrew Breitbart Today is the day that I have been invited to go on MSNBC for the very first time. At no point during the ACORN story was I put on the hot seat to defend the work of James O’Keefe. My thesis from day one has been that the mainstream media is biased in favor of the left and MSNBC is its most obvious case study.
So when MSNBC led the charge on Tuesday against James O’Keefe when he and three others were arrested in New Orleans at Senator Landrieu’s office, it came as no surprise that the cable network seized upon a narrative that presumed O’Keefe’s guilt, falsely extrapolated that he was being charged with felony wiretapping and instantaneously coined and repeated endlessly the new buzz phase, “Watergate Jr.”Thus it came as no surprise to me that Keith Olbermann’s super sub, David Shuster, called me early Wednesday. ”Watergate Jr.” pushed MSNBC to send Shuster down to New Orleans to own the destruction-by-media of James O’Keefe and anyone in his proximity. I immediately told Shuster that I had been getting emails about his absurd, over-the-top and rush-to-judgment journalism. He told me that I had him confused with Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann, that he has “no horse in this race.” He asked that I come on his show and that he would give me a fair interview. He proceeded to send me the following emails to formalize the request.

MSNBC is pushing this one big time!

Won't they like foolish when not much comes of it? Oh, wait, they already look foolish propping up ACORN. Mark my words, the MSM will play up the O'Keefe case much more than they ever did the horrific ACORN activities.
