Never seen a pres slap at the supremes like that. Don't think that was appropiate. But i'm sure "O"boy know's more about the constitution than a few Judges.

When he said it I had to stop and think. I couldn't ever remember a president attacking a supreme court decision in public right in front of them. It's more of his demonizing anyone that doesn't agree with him.

I watched about the first 10 minutes, hoping Obama would show something different - maybe a side of him we haven't seen - like ownership and a chance in attitude. But it was more of the same.

By criticizing the Supreme Court, and proposing to legislate against the Supreme Court's decision, Obama showed his disrespect for our Constitution. When the Court makes a decision he doesn't like, this president wants it changed...Last week, the Supreme Court reversed a century of law to open the floodgates for special interests — including foreign corporations — to spend without limit in our elections. Well I don’t think American elections should be bankrolled by America’s most powerful interests, or worse, by foreign entities. They should be decided by the American people, and that’s why I’m urging Democrats and Republicans to pass a bill that helps to right this wrong. All you have to do is read the dissent, the four justices who said this will defintely open the floodgates to big corporate special interests. Anybody who thinks that's not true is out of touch with the American political process.Newsflash for Mr. Obama and the deceitful Democrats: bogeyman "special interests" and lobbyists already own the political process; the Court's campaign finance decision slightly levels that playing field. (You know this, of course, but find anything resembling a level playing field too threatening.)

Two insightful commentaries on Obama's State of the Union address, both coming from the UK:

Obama's State of the Union: damaged but unrepentant
http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/janetdaley/100024083/obamas-state-of-the-union-damaged-but-unrepentant/
From a British point of view what was most significant was that even this Left-of-centre president proudly boasted that he had cut the taxes of 95 per cent of working families and that he had not increased income tax by a penny. To loud applause he boasted of having cut 25 taxes which meant that “people had more to spend” which in turn helped businesses to retain jobs. And he was also absolutely clear that the way to create jobs was to cut business taxes. He would abolish captal gains tax on investment for small businesses which are the greatest generators of new jobs in the US as they are here. Yes, even the Left gets it in America: the way to promote growth is to reduce taxes. She's right - I heard this in the first few minutes of his speech - an admission that cutting taxes means growth - and I was astounded. Leftists around the room were applauding, leftists who will return to their districts seeking new ways to follow their leader to "tax and spend" utopia. At this point I knew it didn't matter what he said - the message content is irrelevant, they care only about the delivery and the dramatic scene.

State of the Union: Barack Obama gets an F for world leadership

Significantly, the global war against al-Qaeda was hardly mentioned, and there were no measures outlined to enhance US security at a time of mounting threats from Islamist terrorists. Terrorism is a top issue for American voters, but President Obama displayed what can only be described as a stunning indifference towards the defence of the homeland.A startling observation. It's true - this President clearly does not prioritize defending us against muslim terrorists, most likely due to sympathies he holds for the religion. Since the attack at Ft. Hood he has announced no changes in policy to prevent such a thing from happening again. Let's not forget that he was raised muslim, nor the pure hatred of America displayed by his long time pastor.

The shot of the justices when he said that was priceless. Roberts looked shocked and one of the others could be seen mouthing, "You are wrong". And you're right about Sonya and she was too dumb to know that BHO was agreeing with her. I don't think it is a good idea to humilate the Supreme Court. You might just need their support some time.

Campaign Finance Reform was an attack on free speech and was rightly struck down! It was nothing less than incumbent protection! Nothing about it was good. The Ist Amendment clearly states that Congress will make no law...restricting the free expression. Individuals join together to form a corporation. That means they are people! As a member of the NRA we put all our little pots of money together to lobby for the 2nd Amendment! Companies lobby for their product or industry...so what is the problem! Plan Parenthood was not restricted, Unions were not restricted, the NEA was not restricted. Money is the lifeblood of politics just as oil is the lifeblood of our economy! BHO has no clue!

BHO was wrong when he said that foreign corporations could fund elections. The ruling does not change the restriction on that.

As Rush said, BHO was the least qualified person in the room last night and he is talking down and lecturing Congress and the Supreme Court. He certainly didn't win any friendds with anyone last night.

Those same points were brought up this morning when this topic was under discussion at my office. Most people here...including some that voted for the annointed one back in '08...have the same perspective.

Let's not mention the campaign contributions that President TrainingPants received from outside the country....

How soon before he pisses everybody off and they find a reason to impeach him?

"The Supreme Court opinion, which is 183 pages in length, specifically excludes foreign nationals and foreign-owned corporations from its ruling. So the president, the former professor of law at the one of the country’s best law schools, either did not read the opinion, or was misrepresenting it."

Even the HuffPo says Alito was right!

"But the Court did not overturn "a century of law." The provision upended by the Court was only seven years old. It was a novel innovation of the McCain-Feingold campaign finance law adopted during the Bush Administration."
