Has anyone heard anything about Colombia making noises again about "reclaiming" Panama. They got their independence from Colombia in 11/03. US forces stood by guarding Panama at the time. There has been periodic disputes through the years regarding the borders between Colombia and Panama, most of which is very thick jungle from what I understand. This is an area long considered to be an area to be avoided at all costs due large to drug wars in the area.

I received an email a couple of weeks ago from a Panamanian friend mentioning that there was talk again regarding this issue. Just wondered. It might be that Colombia's interest has arisen again as billions of dollars are pouring into Panama from all over the world as they develop it as a revived business center and major tourist attraction. That's all the information I have.
