The 2nd vid is a must see and is very powerful! The first one though, shows us (unintentially) how far we've fallen since obama got in.

Well at least it was well made. Whoever made that video still fails to grasp the reality of what I and many others lives are really about. Playing the same game. My job and financial reality was going down hill long before Obama came to office and will still be heading in that direction whoever wins the election. Not a single side in this election is addressing problems, they simply pick issues, give superficial causes for the problem and quick easy to remember answers that can fit in 30 second commercials and pre-canned "debates" that the masses on both sides lap up, but at least its flashy. Got to give that to them.

Great stuff, Coolbreeze. Danv, I agree with you word-for-word. One election is not the revolution we need in order to fix our broken system.
Even a landslide Republican / Tea Party victory on November 2nd will not solve anything. It will only help stop the bleeding, giving conservatives the mandate they need to overcome every Obamagenda stiff-arm from now until 2012.
Then, we citizens must find a way to remove the entrenched, career politicians - all of them - and start fresh. Back to the basics with regular people, who have real jobs, serving for a while, then returning to their actual lives. I think it's the only way to fix what we have broken. Real people have the courage to lead, inspiring the rest of us to sacrifice so that real problems can be solved. The Tea Party seems to me the beginning of this movement. Sarah Palin is a good figurehead for now because she's not holding office, just helping to drive the movement.
For example, if we ever want to eliminate social security, a generation is probably going to have to pay the tax without receiving the benefits. Fine, let that be my generation. But to accomplish just this one thing - abolishing social security - will require a Herculean effort from us, the citizens, involving everything from political to educational reform (kids must know about each sacrifice, why it's necessary in real terms, to rescue prior generations from their mistakes). Easy to say such things can never happen. But I think such changes are the only way to ensure future generations will have American opportunity, unburdened by excessive entitlements, and bound only to each individual's drive and determination. It's going to take a real person to lead us there. Not a career politician!

Excellent example, you're right it would take tremendous sacrifices by the chosen generation to take on the DUAL BURDEN: 1) continue to pay for the support system to those justly entitled (our current retires) and 2) Save aggressively for our own independent retirement.
I am willing to do the same. I agree education of the younger generations is crucial to continuity of independence, how many of our school districts or even private or parochial schools teach any serious material about fiscal responsibility, FEW, they teach consumerism ~gotta have what the Jones have or better~.

I did my part, and voted against every incumbent at the Federal level...which had me voting Libertarian, but I'm ok with that. And I agree with you DanV, neither party really care about anything more than their own personal political agendas.

Here's something to ponder when you pull the lever for someone who might ensure that a Dem gets elected -- a few of Obama's broken promises (aided and and abetted by the Dems in Congress):
"I promise 100% transparency in my administration."
"I promise NO NEW TAXES on a family making less than $250K a year."
"I will allow 5 days of public comment before I sign any bills."
"I will remove earmarks for PORK projects before I sign any bill."
"I will end Income Tax for seniors making less than $50K a year"
"I'll put the Health Care negotiations on CSPAN so everyone can see who is at the table!"
"I'll have no lobbyists in my administration"

Danv, Nelson and Rem your perspectives and examples are right on.
Motive, I did my part too.
Its going to take a while, but if the foundation of this growing anti-incumbant, pro "We the People" pro-fiscal responcible movement is solid, it will grow and succeed one way, or the other way if necessary.

I hate the idea that my non incumbent, Libertarian votes may have put a Democrat in a better position to take a seat, but the good ol' boy club needs to be broken down, one way, or the other.
The Republican party, needs to realize that "moderate Conservative" is just a half-assed way of saying "moderately Liberal"
If a Dem wins it, then, voting out the incumbent, next time around, will be that much easier.

I hear you and feel the pain but if the Dems continue in power they will continue to wreck this country beyond the point of no return (if they haven't already). They will also claim a "mandate" to do their dirty work. We do need to hold the Republicans' feet to the fire but the time to do that is in the primaries.
Here's another thought on how to justify pulling the lever for a distasteful Republican tomorrow: We already have had ample evidence of the Dems committing voter fraud. By voting, when you otherwise would not have, you have restored a vote for a republican voter whose vote was denied due to fraud. Do it for them! And do it because Indigo Girl would want you not to.:D

Well, it's already too late for that. I voted early. I don't see my rep (John Carter) losing, at any rate.
