Welcome back Johnny! Really enjoyed reading your blog, too. Currently, no libs with the guts to post, but they are lurking and seething. (I guess DanV is a bit of a lib, but doesn't count -- to nice and reasonable.:) )

Visa would you give me a 400 Billion increase in MY line of credit?
I figured the answer would be NO!

Look at the the 8/1 report Table III(c), where the Statutory Debt Limit $ 14,294,000,000,000.00

Then on 8/2 it's now 14,694,000,000,000.00.

On subsequent reports the actual debt outstanding is fluctuating daily, won't be long before the will need to bump it to the next level.

What could possibly happen for the government to go through all that money before the November 2012 elections?

Just wait until Moody and PIMCO jump on the "downgrade" bandwagon.

How can we sustain this kind of debt? I really worry about our country and how on earth we can pull back from the brink! This so-called Blue ribbon panel is heading for serious gridlock with John "Lurch" Kerry, Max "Obamacare" Backus, and Patty "I hate-guns" Murray. Blue-Blood Republicans need to get their heads out of their arse or they too will be history. The automatic trigger will result in a 50% cut in defense and our troops will suffer.
