The quote:

During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet.

If that isn't stating "I invented the internet" than I don't know what is. The guy was, is and always will be a hypocritical, lying, unscientific, reprehensible, unknowledgable, doofas.

But hey, he's made $100,000,000 because of his "care for mother earth" with his Gulfstream 400 Jet and 10,000 and 4,000 square foot houses. Hypocritical b*stard.

Al Gore senior was a pretty good man, but his son went to crap. He's such a hipocrit, he's out there beatin the global warning drum, flying around in his private jets and starting up companies to sell carbon credits. It's all about the money.P.S. say what you want about "W",,It will be our turn very soon,in fact he ain't even in office yet and he's having to cover his ass.

I'm quite sure he'll come out smellin like a rose, scandal does'nt stick to libs like it does to republicans. When it's a democrat scandal the media is the defense team, but if it's a republican scandal they are the prosicution. They will shield BO from this scandal.

Begin Rant -- I can stomach most Libs. Don't agree with them but at least they often have the courage of their convictions (albeit misguided IMHO). Algore on the other hand is a different creature. He is a guy who delights in telling others what to do in that preachy monotone that is like chalk on the blackboard to me. He then lives his life in exactly the opposite way...a big shot with his private plane, and limo motorcades with their engines idling while he preaches to us the horrors of how we are destroying the environment. Then he goes to his Tennessee home with its heated pool and enormous electric bill. He epitomizes what a hypocrite is. The mainline media ignore all this. They will certainly ridicule a fallen preacher or conservative who gets into trouble, but algore is covered in teflon. I can think of no public figure for whom I have less respect and despise more for what he is. End of Rant.

He also said Gone with the wind was about him and his wife...Go figger..

Wow. Wrong on three counts.

The movie in question was Love Story - starring Ryan O'Neal and Ali MacGraw. With Tommy Lee Jones (who was Gore's Harvard room mate in real life) playing O'Neals room mate. And Gore had definitely known Erich Segal while he was at college. (If it had been Gone with the Wind it probably would have involved Gore becoming a professional gambler and visiting Tipper in jail....)

Gore never made the famous claim that the characters in Love Story were based on him. This came about from a series of journalists getting their facts (http://www.dailyhowler.com/h052500_1.shtml)wrong:

reporter for The Nashville Tennessean who knew that Mr. Gore and the author were friends had asked if there was not a little bit of Al Gore in Oliver Barrett. Mr. Segal said yes, there was, but the reporter "just exaggerated," Mr. Segal said. "He made it out to be the local-hero angle."

And yet this pointless tale continues to be perpetuated by the likes of Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh. Even if it were true, it is a matter of such triviality that one has to question the motives - if not the mentality - of the sort of people who keep trying to make an issue of it.

I could sure use a little global warming right about now. The ride in was 27 degrees and I went to Lewisville, TX for lunch and it's snowing. I'm freezing my butt off. This is DFW. It ain't supposed to get this cold so soon. This is Feb weather. Next thing you know, I'll be buying a car.

Global warming won't be a big increase in temp but this will cause change in normal weather patterns. KAK Snowing on lux and that 30 to 50 below 0 in the mid west coming in from Canada.

Take some time and read a little. :)

At 55 years of age I've been around long enough to remember weather oddities occuring at various times all during my lifespan. Hurricanes in places there aren't hurricanes. Same with floods, blizzards and of course Mt. St. Helens, etc. It's just nature proving how dumb we are when we try to out guess her. As to reading, I do quite a bit. The media has done an outstanding job presenting one side of the GW theory but the more I read (and not just "Right Wing" sites) the more I realize that no one can say definitively what may or may not be causing or not causing weather pattern changes.

As to Lux getting snowed on, that is funny!:)

Even Hillary (using the same intel) opted to go to war. It is sad, but it ain't all poor GWB 's fault. Plenty o' demon-crats voted with him.

I think the Americans have forgotten the war in deference to trying to save our own sorry economic rear ends. This is assisted by the media who never have acknowledged any of the progress made since the Surge. Too bad, because the war might prove to be a great long-term legacy for Bush. It appears we have won it and if it continues in the direction it has been going (save shoe throwing fanatics) could be perceived favorably in history. The great Sadass and his primary henchmen are gone. Falling oil prices have at least for the moment subdued the enemy.
