View Full Version : Why isn't MadeOff in Jail?
I just want to know why this guy isn't in jail? He shouldn't have a penny to his name right now little lone a penthouse and honestly even if he isn'a flight risk I think he is a risk to off himself which would make figuring out his entire mess that much tougher. He should be in Jail now, do others agree?

I agree 100%, but this guy is in with the right crowd. These eliteist get away with everything. It's all who you know.

Your right it's part of being in the right crowd no matter what you do. The problem is that many of these schemes are going to come out now when they can no longer hide because so much money is lost and they are setting precedence with this guy. It makes me sick, not to mention I am already reading reports of people blaming the government for the loses and wanting the feds to pay them back. I see another bail out coming.

I heard on the news he is under house arrest in his penthouse, go figger.

Thats only from 7pm til 9am I think. No problem doing whatever he wants during the day. He hasn't even been able to fulfill the bail demands made on him but he is still a free man. IMHO since he admitted to this and there is no question of his guilt he shouldn't enjoy another day of freedom the rest of his life. He should be picking up dropped soap bars in the local detention center until he comes up for trial.
I just heard on the news that his penthouse is valued at 7.5 million, It must be almost like a prison for a man with billions stolen to have to live a slum like that? :) I'm betting the man has 20 million in cash stashed someplace just waiting for a chance to disappear.

The shame of it is that because of who he knows and is that he may go to jail but he won't suffer like he should. I hate to think that I'm midevil but I think that people he stole from should be given hammers and let them break his bones one at a time.

White collar crooks get off easy. In my banking career seen lots of crooked employees and customer get no attention from law enforcement even though they have stolen thousands. I like the idea of a hammer.

There has been a lot of things pissing me off lately. Bailouts, we are spending our childrens future to give these greedy son of a bitches of wallstreet christmas bonuses. Now were giving the automakers that haven't made money in ten years money. Then scams like this madeoff and the guy isn't even in jail. It makes my blood boil to see what is taking place in our country right now.

I disagree; 2 wrongs don't make a right. Big 3 can't possibly do in 3 months what they couldnt do in 10 years. Unions have to be broken. Chrysler is shutting down for a month and workers still receive 95% of pay. Import nonunion manufacturers can more cheaply buy subassemblies from its vendors which Big 3 have to build themselves.

I will agree that the big 3 aren't criminals, though the costs to their shareholders' wealth due to past business decisions borders on theft.

I read a Ben Stein (who I agree with a lot) editorial on the auto bailout. He was for it? His reasoning... they give it to everyone else, so they should give it to automotive mfg's. too. I think he's had a bit too much egg nog.

Ben is usually "right"on, but his hollywood ties sometimes slip into his thinking. Darn entertaining guy.

The big 3 are going down due to poor management from both sides. The problem is that they are not selling cars, and a loan or handout is not going to solve that. The only thing we are doing is propping up the employee's for a short time before they go somewhere else to work.
To get back on topic though, Madoff will get off easy. Just think, we send crack dealers to jail quicker and they don't get the same prison that Martha Stewart had.
