I want to say thanks to all for the time I've have spent here. I think the world of Max and all he has has done for us. I don't want any hard feelings so I will be signing off the forum today. I wish you guys the best. :moon: :D
Take care and be safe.

He Got Upset Cause Max Called Him Hard Headed But I Guess It's Better To Stop Now Then Possibly Ruin A Friendship.

Oh And G No Hard Feelings From Me I Find It Funny
Greg I simply pointed out the obvious. There are some things that people can argue with you but they will never get you to concede anything. I was simply pointing that out in an attempt to end the argument. I thought this was a place we could disagree?

IT IS BUT IT'S HARD WHEN YOU PERSONALLY KNOW SOMEONE AND HAVE SUCH DIFFERING STRONG POLITICAL VIEWS.

I was a Republican that married a Democrat... we're both Libertarians now.
With that said, G, I enjoyed the sparring. You kept it above the name-calling for the most part. Stay safe and we'll pray you come around :D

I hope he comes around when he cools down. He is pretty outnumbered on here, especially with Engels apparently on the sidelines (though I note he is still checking in here).

G-man, c'mon back out and play dude. We miss you... :-(
It's like this when you have an opinion and a belief you not only express it, you also try to change others and how they think by reason in most cases, when you realize it is a wast of time you move on. We are all pretty entrenched in the way we believe, us trying to get them to understand our thinking and them trying to get us to understand they're thinking is like hitting your head against a brick wall. In some cases that's how wars start. (civil war comes to mind rather quickly). I think we all need to step back occasionally consider the big picture. They need to understand you can't depend on the police to protect you, that's not they're job they exist to police up the mess after the crime has been committed and they need to understand it is up to the individual to protect themselves. If the police in my family understand this why can't they. As for the other disagreements that go on around here the facts tend to be reported by the press and not one of us really has the whole picture, not even the press knows. Lets go back to summer 1967 I was in Germany getting ready to rotate back. The Israel's were going into the Golan heights, our gov. was telling the folks back home we weren't going to bet involved, Wrong. The 113 infantry was on the move to come in from field training a get ready to go. My outfit the 293rd Eng. Battalion had all the equip. lined up and packed ready to go. If the out come of the 7 day war had been deferant we would have rolled, all the while the people back home are being told otherwise, just one small example of how little we know.

Essayons is universal to Army Engineers (in fact we were the only branch that had our own own Class A/Dress Blue buttons with the word Essayons on them). That may have come about after your time (don't be offended, not calling you an old fart) :) or it may not have been such a big deal among the latrine builders (affectionate name we called the construction guys).
Sappers are generally more associated with combat engineers. They actually have a Sapper school now which is kind of the engineering version of ranger school, but sappers is generally a slang term for combat engineers.

Thanks for your service man.
