Basically, the part where they bankrupted so many companies got my attention and even though this is from 1999 I doubt much has changed.

I find that Congress email entertaining. As a side note, I usually take everything Snopes says with a grain of salt. Imagine a publication revolving around what is essentially gossip. That's Snopes. I put them in the same category as Perez Hilton and Salon - publications with basically warped views.

Doesn't anyone remember the House Banking scandel? No one got so much as a slap on the wrist. Almnost all of them were writing hot checks. I know a single mom who went to jail for that.

I have noticed Snopes has a left tilt to most of their "reporting". It seems to be a good reference for the chain emails that never end.
