So, we're giving Hamas almost a billion dollars to rebuild. What do you guys think?
I think we're funding terrorism, but hey, what do I know.
Hell we may as well give it to Hamas, it's good stimulus. After all most of the money will be used to buy US made weapons to fire at Israel.

We need to stay out of this mess and let them fight it out. Winner take all.

I disagree.
Isreal has always been a good ally to us and and ally in a part of the world where we desparately need one.
Hamas is nothing but a terrorist organization and they should be treated as such. If Isreal needs help in this we should provide it in any way practical. Providing assistance to Hamas, in my opinion is providing aid and comfort to the enemy.

Yep, I can't help but feel like we are selling Israel down the river on this one. Frankly by pouring money into any part of the middle east except Israel makes me feel like I just bought the roadside bomb that will one day have my name on it.
Us giving money to Hamas shows just how out of touch with reality we are right now. I also agree Israel has been really our only ally in a very bad area.

Apparently the money's going somewhere, I'm simply saying I'd rather it go to the good guys than the terrorists. I'm just wonky like that... :D

Personally, I'm in favor of the "nuke 'em till they glow" tactic, but that's just me...:gun:

I've thought that way for some time. Just tell them, someone from your country f's with us, we nuke a city.
I can see the droves of obvious Islamic terrorist dressed as rabbis throwing themselves at the US with suicide vests.

U.S. plans to pledge $900 million for Gaza

We ought to have learned by now: any money issued to anyone representing "Palestinian" interests funnels directly or indirectly to Hamas, and sponsors terrorism.
We are involved whether we want to be or not, and we have been for decades - ever since we showed Arabs how to take oil out of their own land, then, like altruistic fools, let them keep it. I don't see it happening during the Obama administration, especially not with our joke of a Secretary of State towing the Jimmy Carter line, but I personally think Israel needs our full backing. As a result of our foolishness in giving primitive Arabs the ability to extract oil decades ago, these Arabic countries have grown incredibly wealthy and dangerous.
Unlike most of the Islamic nations, Israel has not declared they will destroy us. They represent no danger to us at all, and have in fact been tremendous allies. Furthermore, though liberals have tried very hard to destroy this connection, the epic drama that is Israel's ancient history has close ties to our national identity: consider the term Judeo-Christian.
Trying to walk a fine line between Israel and very primitive nations who have sworn to destroy Israel - by distributing money to all parties - is not wise. This will end up alienating our real friends, and it will never satisfy our enemies. Urging Israel to give a key parcel of land, that borders both Israel and the Mediterranean Sea, to terrorists... who will use it to establish bases, train more terrorists, and launch terrorism operations, is even more ludicrous. America might as well give Florida to Iran.
In the midst of an economic crisis, I think we should not be promising money to anyone, least of all terrorists.

I'll look for one tonight when I get the time, but if I remember correctly H. Clinton has since changed the number. I think it's less than half what was previously stated but I'll look.

I found an article on a blog site saying $900 million but filtered through the UN (unamerican numbnuts). There was an article from Canada musing if the US is nearly bankrupt, why are we rebuilding other nations as part of a stimulus. I guess shovel ready, didn't really mean US projects alone.
Still no AP or Reuters that I could find. There was enough circumstantial evidence to make me think it probably is in there somewhere.
