Limbaugh's latest attacker: RNC's Steele

http://news.yahoo.com/s/politico/20090302/pl_politico/19498

In a little-noticed interview Saturday night, Steele dismissed Limbaugh as an “entertainer” whose show is “incendiary” and “ugly.”

Monday on his show, Limbaugh said: "You know who needs a little leadership? Michael Steele and those at the RNC."

"It turns out we're the leaders,” he added. “We're going to have to pick them up and drive them back to their core."

I'm not a big Rush fan, but Steele stepped on his Richard this time. I found myself agreeing with Rush. There are too many RINO's - it's the reason I associate with the Libertarians now. They drove me away. If - and that is a humungous if - they dump people like Steele, McCain, The Governator etc... then, and only then would I consider returning to the GOP.

Indeed, for some reason Republicans tend to eat their own.

I don't agree with being a kool aid drinker or circling the wagons at the cost of intellectual honesty and integrity, but I think in their haste to be seen as conciliatory and "reasonable" they tend to be more critical of their own and give the Dems a pass on too many things.

Like I said, I'm not a fan. I did however listen to the CPAC speech. TT you wouldn't know Truth if it hit you in the face.

Please give examples of how you equate a political entertainer with Nazis.

Please. I gotta hear this. Like I said, the air is awfully thin in that jet of yours.

Thanks for not disappointing me TT. I expected no better. Don't argue what he says, but attack him personally. You people protest way too much about him. I wonder why that is.....

Limbaugh gets zero respect from me.

He called actual Iraq veterans "phony soliders" for disagreeing with the war. He lies, repeatedly. He actually sells "Club Gitmo" merchanidse on his show and website - celebrating a shameful stain on America's reputation for justice and fair treatment, pandering to the sort of sadistic racists who listen to his show. He is a screaming hypocrite when it comes to drug abuse. He managed to call John Kerry and John Murtha, who served their country in Vietnam "phonies" and "frauds" - yet this fat, lying bastard, managed to get a deferment from Vietnam thanks to a boil on his ass.

He lied about Acorn. He lied about Barney Frank, he lied about Planned Parenthood, he lied about the Exxon Valdez, he lied about gas prices, he lied about Michael J. Fox. In short: he lies about just about everything.

Limbaugh is an idiot. People who listen to his show, and believe what he says, are literally the worst humans in America. If conservatives can't recognize that they need to jettison this piece of human garbage, then they deserve the electoral drubbing they've been getting.

Limbaugh lies so much, it truly is impossible to keep track of the distortions and outright falsehoods he commits to the airwaves. He literally is beneath my contempt.

I can't defend Rush because I don't pay any attention to him...I couldn't tell you what the man has said or what he really stands for. However, I do find it funny that Steele thinks the RNC will lead the strays back to their core as the RNC is the one being slowly led back to the core by conservative citizenry who are collectively very pissed at a GOP that has acted like the Democratic party for far too long.

So, you have listened to him extensively and heard or read transcripts of the above statements you called out in context? And you have thoroughly researched and disproved each of his claims? And you can distinguish between his humor, showmanship and his serious view of issues? Of course you have not and cannot. You've read the liberal blogs and commiserated with other of like mind. Where he differs with your views you have dismissed him. You portray yourself as some kind of well read intellectual but then you go on a rant like the above and prove your bias and intellectual dishonesty.

All I had to do is listen to him. He has a lot of hate and seems to be a very unhappy man. If you think he'll help your party have at it. If it where our party he would be publicly disowned.

Intellectual dishonesty?

I can prove every single one of the assertions of Rush Limbaugh lying that I made. Every one. And probably a thousand more.

But, in case you don't believe me, here is one more example of a Limbaugh lie:

On August 3, 2005, when discussing the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster, Limbaugh made the following statement:
... EPA rules actually may have caused the shuttle Columbia disaster. It goes like this. They used to use Freon in the ingredients of the foam that they spray on the -- that solid fuel tank. It's that foam that fell off -- that chunks of it fall off, and the second to go shuttle mission created a hole in the wing and led to the disaster on re-entry. They can't use Freon anymore. They had to use something else to cause the foam to bond to the fuel tank, and it was not nearly as good as Freon was. And that's why the chunks started coming loose. And so they came up with some other substance that is a little stickier and causes the stuff to bond better, but it still doesn't work as well as Freon did.

So maybe -- a lot of people are beginning to think that the banning of Freon actually caused the shuttle accident, the Columbia shuttle accident, two flights ago. And I'm inclined to believe it when I hear this.

What Limbaugh conveniently forgot to tell his dim-witted listeners is this: The foam that broke off was attached with freon. And that according to the NASA report on the accident, the freon-attached foam was constantly breaking off - on 62 out of the (then) 80 missions.

That is the problem with Limbaugh: He simply uses any piece of information to spin or lie it into a pronouncement supporting his twisted political worldview (in this case an attack on the EPA). The fact that it is totally unsupported by any sort of science, or expert opinion, is lost on his listeners. He (cynically) knows that most of them have neither the ability, nor the interest, in finding out what the real TRUTH is.

And you know what - some of the total lies and untruths ("no wind turbines or solar power in China") I see posted on this forum are more examples of how the Hannity-Limbaugh-Coulter-O'Reilly propaganda machine has been polluting the minds of American "conservatives" for the last twenty years or so.

Biased? Yeah - I'm biased against lying sacks of shit.

Shuttle:
http://www.space.com/missionlaunches/sts107_foam_ft_030506.html
Environmental requirements requiring removal of freon from the process for spraying the foam insulation onto the tank. NASA has said that the freon-free application method resulted in foam that initially did not adhere to the tank as well, but changes were later made to strengthen the bond of the environmentally friendly foam.

TT, you have no clue about anything you propose, do you? You are funny in a weird sort of way. Keep them coming.

I would rather have a drink with Limbaugh then fly in your personal jet anyday. Yeah, I can see who is lying here.

Yeah, I can see who is lying here.

You don't give up, do you.

Look at the Columbia Accident Investigation Board (http://caib.nasa.gov/news/report/pdf/vol2/part07.pdf) report relating to the failure of the foam. (Yeah, I know its long, and sort of technical).

But to tell you the important words: The "old" foam (containing freon) was BX-250 (http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/shuttle/rtf/otte/et_thermal_protection_fact_sheet.doc). The Columbia shuttle that crashed was ET-93. And then read these words (page 227 of the document):

The BX-250 foam was supplied to the ET project as a flight verified material from the Saturn Program. A review of material properties certification indicated forward bipod materials met material performance requirements including
thermal recession properties at design ascent heating rates, thermal conductivity to preclude ice formation and to maintain cryogenic propellant quality during prelaunch, and mechanical properties.

and

Experienced certified practitioners performed the ET-93 bipod ramp BX-250 sprays, each with over 20 years experience.
No indications of sprayer error were found. Procedures were followed and documented, and processes were within control limits

Translation for the rest of us: the part that fell off was made using the old freon foam.

Quit wasting my time.

RNC Chief Apologizes for Ripping Rush Limbaugh

Two days after calling Rush Limbaugh a mere "entertainer" with an "incendiary" talk show, RNC chairman Michael Steele apologizes to a "national conservative leader."

I think the RNC should look hard at a recall of this Steele guy. His viewpoint are left of center, which would be fine in the DNC. I'm thinking Walter Williams would be a good candidate.

Agree, Walter Williams would indeed be a good choice, although I believe he's a Libertarian.

Rush made the point in his speech on Saturday and I think he nailed it. The Rs need to quit trying to pander to the so-called "moderates" by moving to the left and simply grow some stones and stand up for the conservative principals on which this party was based and sell those ideals to the public.

If there's one thing I have to give dems props for, it's that they're winning the PR war. Why? Because they don't have an identity crisis like the Rs. They believe strongly in pushing the socialist agenda and are being true to their beliefs. They are also being successful in this effort hoodwinking the lazy and ingnorant American voter block that they pander to in one breath and bend over the table in another (case in point: so called "taxcuts" for the middle cl**** then implement cap and trade which will certainly exceed those taxcuts in passed on costs to the American people)
