View Full Version : Would Someone Please Stop The Pollution?

Can someone please reason with Mt. Redoubt and tell her that her new eruptions are polluting the environment? She's decided after 20 years to begin erupting again and is making a heck of a mess. She is undoubtedly contributing more to global warming than any benefits from the proposed cap and trade program. Maybe BO's TelePrompTer can have a word or two with her.:D

Mt. Redoubt never erupted then -- probably knew she would get invaded by Special Forces troops or even nuked if she got out of line. Now that we have a weak president she is taking advantage of us. She knows that BO (or rather his TelePrompTer) will send a video asking for peace and understanding. Now Katrina, she was a witch -- and her attack on America was of course GWB's fault.:D

How dare Mt. Redoubt refuse to jump on the bandwagon.

Bush didn't have a problem starting a war he just couldn't find the right country.

What do you mean? I thought Iraq was a victory now that Obama is in office.

Yes indeed, and besides it was Sadaam who started the war by not complying with UN directives regarding his WMD. If he was so innocent, still not sure why he didn't comply with the inspectors. I'm guessing those WMD are now in Iran or Syria.

True, I believe Afghanistan was Bush's idea as well.

Who gives a rip about bin laden? Getting him won't resolve anything. That's your guy's excuse to bash Iraq efforts and discount the successes in Iraq while claiming your "own" war -- Afghanistan.

You've heard the lie for so long you forgot what the war was suppose to be about. Bin laden is the one responsible for setting up the attack on the world trade center, this is what the war was suppose to be all about. Bush went into Iraq to remove Saddam and install a democracy...... bottom line. And we still don't have the job done.

Not to worry, the Messiah (actually his TelePrompTer) will take credit for getting it done. And let's not forget that no terrorist attacks under GWB -- how long do you suppose that will last under BHO? Those 3rd World despots are licking their lips and sharping their knives even as we speak.

G you need a new bot. The Fox News / GWB bot is already planted in nearly every thread on the forum! :rofl
I think we should TAX Mt. Redoubt up the wazoo. Mt. Redoubt sits there all high and mighty, not having to work every day like us normal working men, spewing out pollution and not even buying any carbon credits!

Now that we're on the subject...Rem, G, if someone really, really wanted to commit a terrorist act and didn't care if they died in the act, do either of you really think there is a way to 100% stop it? I'm just curious as to how you all feel on the subject. Myself, I think our actions only narrow the gap through which a terrorist has to traverse in order to accomplish his goal and we need to be careful that we don't inadvertently damage our own freedom in a pursuit to make us all feel better. I don't really think we'll ever catch Bin Laden and I never really did(this is not a defeatist statement simply a realistic look at how big the world is and what one can accomplish with certain assets) but Bush had to do something after 9/11 simply in order to remind the world that we are not a weak nation. And sure, Iraq was probably a bad call given the WMD lie, but what if these people are actually able to maintain their freedom after we're gone? Will it still be seen as a mistake?
Oh, and that darn mountain better watch out too. Obama might want to open talks with the less volatile volcanoes out there.

Good points. A terrorist attack can occur on any president's watch because a determined foe can find soft targets and/or work around security. However, the president through his priorities can make the attempts harder to accomplish. BO and his Homeland Security Chief have watered down the emphasis on anti-terrorism judged by their word play. Also, the deterrence effect -- i.e., "mess with us and we'll hit back twice as hard" has been softened.
