Well calling them the axis of evil didn't work. This gave them time to build up their nuclear programs. He spent so much time calling people names we lost a lot of the work Reagan. Clinton did to get a working relationship with these country's, now we have to start over.

New administration's pre-qualification for proposing relationships with other nations: Must have threatened to exterminate a particular nation, race, religion, or color of people. Must lie to us about development of and intent for nuclear program. Must hang, stone, or execute women, homosexuals, and other groups of people. Must enforce never-reformed religious edicts with consequences of death.Meet these qualifications and you too can sit down at the same table with Obama!

I can save you the search, NONE :deal:G, despite your hatred for George Bush, and your ignoring every strong opposing point, responding with GWB repetition... believe it or not, you and I might actually agree on a great number of things.
But you know we shouldn't be sitting down with international terrorists like Iran. You know it.
Tehran can boast the international community came around to its point of view.
What is your definition of positive international relationships? Because if you want most other countries to like us, you're living a liberal pipe dream. Other countries will always thumb their noses at the USA. They will always blame us, especially if they think we care. We are the most prosperous nation in the world! We cannot ever gauge the success of our foreign policy by how many countries "like" us. That's foolish. They will never like us, G, not until we give them everything we have, and even then, we will be blamed - not liked. Whether we are "liked" does not matter; what matters is whether we are respected.
Now you may not think we were respected under George Bush, and I'm sure that is your reflexive response, despite it being irrelevant now. But remember, after the USA overthrew Saddam Hussein, Gaddafi of Libya announced he had an active WMD program, and invited international inspectors to come dismantle it.

His foreign policy was a failure.
Actually I think it was pretty good. He didn't apologize for our country or give a rat's behind what the limp-wristed Europeans thought. Terrorists took him seriously. No attacks following 9/11. N. Korea didn't fire any missiles, either. Our enemies are laughing about BO. Time will prove it.
