I never joined revolver forums.... whatever.

I got my NRA card in the mail 2 days ago.

I have a guitar that should sell tomorrow.

There's a gun show in Market Hall in Dallas this weekend.

I have never been to one. Probably won't buy one quite yet, but I thought it might be fun to see a gun show first hand.

Anything I should be looking for? Anything I should avoid?

Whatever you do, don't buy anything yet. Give yourself some time to figure out exactly what you want.
Other than that, just have fun and check out different guns you may be interested in and the prices. It might be good to get a friend to go with you who knows guns.
When you decide on a few guns you might be interested in try to find a way to shoot them. Either rent them at a range or get together with someone who may have some you can try.
Have fun.

Good opportunity to pick up various weapons and get a feel for them. Accessories and aftermarket items are a good judge of popularity. I agree a friend who knows guns would make good company. I'm no expert! :) But I do always like to play with the shotguns.

Hey, I think my dad is going to that one. I agree with Oriondk though. For myself I really want to buy a couple of Rugers because they seem to be Smith level quality, not as pretty but possibly even more durable, when I get around to it. You should join revolverforum if you are interested in firearms in any way because there is a lot more than just revolvers discussed there.

Looks like the guitar deal fell though so the $8 admission might as well be $1000 today. I could get in free if I donated blood, but the pacemaker makes me ineligible :banghead:

I like that one, Nelson. I don't think I can affor the Federal Stamp for it, but Damn, what utilitarian looking weapon!!

well if it has a long mag you might not have to have the tax stamp

Yeah, but the barrel is too short not to have a stamp...I think.

Yeah, but the barrel is too short not to have a stamp...I think.

Less than 18" on a shot gun, or 16" on a long gun barrel length, and you're required to have a stamp.

That's what I mean. I'm not very good at judging from a picture but that barrel looks well under regulation.

It's a 14" barrel.

I have been collecting guns since I was a young Marine in 1973. I have been an avid hunter and enjoy reloading as much as working on motorcycles. I had a concealed permit since they became legal here in Florida. Gun Shows here in the South are a lot like this forum...except for the leftist! There are not a good deal of Liberals enjoying the 2nd amendment! The folks are really just like you and me and most have regular jobs and go to the shows to sell knives, guns, belt buckles, survival gear and thousands of really cool aftermarket products. When you have a Concealed Carry Permit you can buy a Handgun that day, but all other purchases have a 3 to 5 day waiting period.
What is this stamp you keep talking about? Jeb

You might want to check out Max's revolverforums.com, too, if you have not already. While it has lots of revolver fanatics, we also discuss bottomfeeders, rifles, ccw or whatever. And FYI, there is a certain Lib on here who has guns and good gun knowledge -- he just doesn't talk much about it.:)

He must be moving to the right...Liberals see guns like Vampires see the cross! Or like Rosie ODonnell...you know how she has an armed security Guard but does not want the peasants to have one. Yes, I have been looking at the other site. Thanks! Jeb

Thank you for telling me about this site when I posted on 1130cc.com asking about Max. You gave me a new home to speak about issues and you answered my question about my Turbocharged friend Max! Cool Beans! Jeb:)
