Well the internet nazis at work have decided to block access to the internet at large so I can no longer access this website, the other Max websites, or any non-governmental website for that matter. Although certain news websites and commercial/industry sites are still available. They might unblock them during lunch time but won't know until tomorrow. Sucks.

Well to my surprise I was able to get through this morning. Guess enough people complained the broad-sword type blocks were too excessive. If so, nice to know that enough bitching, whinning, and complaining saved the day. Certain irony in that. Oh well...just glad to be on again.

Well learned that many people here in my section office inquired about it to the section administrator but he's not the one that controls such things. Blocks on the network can only be emplaced at the higher headquarters; so figure something must have happened up there to cause this removal.

either that or they were just testing a software to see how it worked out

Forgot to try this AM, In my agency the firewall Admins do block high risk sites the host porn & the likes or known virus servers. Most commercial servers are accessible.
A year ago my co-worker who is also a National Guards Man could not get to his .mil sites from our .gov IRS network but he could from a home computer, we were able to resolve the issue by having the firewall admins allow access the .mil sites.

Ah the .mil sights. Getting so secure that we can't even use them.
